The history of Pull & Bear

It was 1991 when the founders of Pull & Bear decided to add a new brand to their Inditex Group. Fuelled by the public’s demand for more basic fashion inspired by international trends, the first Pull & Bear stores opened in Portugal in 1992. Three years later, the brand arrived in Greece and Malta, and then in Israel two years later. But it was the introduction of Pull & Bear’s women’s collection in 1998 (up until that point, the company had only catered for men’s clothing) that truly boosted the brand’s reputation, with the first stores opening in Cyprus. The website was also released that same year, opening a whole new world of online shopping for fashionistas.

More branches followed worldwide within the next few years, including Mexico, Slovakia, Romania, etc.

In 2008, the brand started publishing their product catalogue online to lessen paper consumption while also entering the Egyptian- and UK markets.

In February 2019, the company partnered with the sports brand Umbro to launch a line of sportswear products, appealing to Pull & Bear’s more athletic customers.
