About ZARA
ZARA introduced ‘fast fashion’ to the world, as it was Amancio Ortega who generated a whole new business model to reduce lead times and bring shoppers new clothing trends much faster.
Those looking to satisfy their fashion lust (whether in-store or online) can pick and choose from multiple products (jumpers, lingerie, etc) and brands (like Prada and Marvel) across the various categories: Man, Woman, Children (known as ZARA Kids), Shoes & Bags, and Beauty. European shoppers also get to enjoy ZARA Home, which was started in 2003 and focuses on home goods and décor.
The history of ZARA
Amancio Ortega originally wanted his clothing store in downtown Galicia, Spain to be named after the classic film Zorba the Greek. This was in 1975 when he and Rosalía Mera were running a family business specialising in budget-friendly copies of trendy, high-fashion brands.
His mind was changed when discovering a nearby bar with the same name, prompting him to rework the company’s title to Zara (stylised as ZARA).
Quickly winning the love of the Spanish consumer, ZARA’s approach towards fashion resulted in the opening of nine new stores in eight years. But before taking his brand global, Amancio created a parent company for ZARA (Inditex, the worlds largest apparel retailer today).
ZARA opened in the UK in 1998 and launched its online boutique in 2010, heavily boosting the brand’s commitment to online business and consumers’ love for the convenience of online shopping.
In May 2021, ZARA started its own beauty line, ZARA Beauty (which includes the likes of Red Temptation, one of the brand’s most popular perfumes).
Tiendeo might be your one-stop hub for all of ZARA’s freshest product catalogues and weekly promotions, but don’t forget about those other customer perks available on ZARA online.
• Like ZARA’s Special Prices collection which is basically a secret online sale hub for women. This is especially a treat since ZARA famously doesn’t offer discount codes.
• Speaking of feeling left out, don’t – rather subscribe to the ZARA Newsletter for weekly updates on fashion trends.
• Not sure where to shop for that men’s perfume (or baby shoes...) youve been coveting? The online Store Finder is a good place to try!
• Finally, spread some ZARA love with two types of Gift Cards: the online eCard which is emailed, and the physical Gift Card which is gifted via post.
