About FatFace
In addition to providing you with first-rate fashions for the whole family, FatFace is also committed to using more sustainable materials. And as 100% of their cotton products are already sustainably sourced, next in line for the brand is to continue making eco-friendly changes so that, by 2025, 100% of FatFace’s polyester products will be recycled and 100% of their linen products will be sustainably sourced.
The history of FatFace
In 1988, Tim Slade and Jules Leaver were enjoying themselves at the French ski resort Méribel. To fund their skiing, the duo sold T-shirts with resort-specific designs on them, and continued doing so at various ski resorts the next few years. Eventually, this led to their first store in Fulham, London, in 1992. Named after the Face de Bellevarde slope in Val-dIsère, FatFace was born. And a decade later, it had 50 stores selling everything from jumpers and jackets to dresses and blouses.
Although aimed at active lifestyles at first, FatFace’s later products shifted towards more everyday fashions without minimising any of the quality. A year after opening its first store, it proudly introduced its first product catalogue. In 1997, FatFace branched into clothing for women and kids. And with the onset of the digital age in 2001, the brand launched its website and online shopping capabilities to further boost its reputation.
In 2015, it was the time for FatFace to launch its US website – and the following year, its first US store.
Today, FatFace’s passion for its lifestyle- and clothing products is still as strong as ever, whether it’s women’s jewellery, kids’ shoes, or kitchenware and pet accessories.
