It was 1979, and Patsy Seddon was living in London with her two young children. Struggling to find practical and fashionable clothing, Patsy decided to design her own dresses – and that’s how the first Phase Eight boutique outlet (in Wandsworth Common) was opened. Specialising in women’s clothing (including bridalwear and accessories), Phase Eight (which is a combination of Patsy’s maiden name and her first boutique’s address) designed all its products in house.

Although Phase Eight grew and evolved with time, it never strayed far from its core principles of being a quintessential British, design-led brand focused on exclusive designs, beautiful fabrics, unique prints, and a timeless design philosophy. The brand even introduced a plus-size range in 2015 (named Studio 8). That same year, Phase Eight was bought by the South African retailer Foschini Group. And in 2018, the brand partnered with the TV shopping retailer QVC to bring its rich range of dresses, accessories and new arrivals to a whole new market.

Today, Phase Eight continues to impress with its hundreds of outlets across the globe (including the UK, Ireland and Australia).
