The history of The Range
The Range’s story started when Chris Dawson opened an open-air market in Plymouth, South West England in 1980. The success of this venture resulted in his first physical store opening nine years later at Sugar Mill Business Park, called “C.D.S. Superstores". This was eventually rebranded as The Range in the early 90s following more store openings.
It was during 2016 and -17 that The Range first opened stores in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. This came after Dawson, who came in 5th in Management Todays seventh annual survey of Britains Top 100 Entrepreneurs, announced his plans to expand The Range across Europe.
Today, The Range (which is wholly owned by Dawson and his wife Sarah) continues to impress with not only its great-quality home- and garden goods, but also its commitment to offering said goods at enviable prices right across the UK and Ireland.
