Known as the biggest city in the county of West Yorkshire, UK, Leeds successfully went from a small manorial borough in the 13th century to a popular urban centre by the mid-20th century. After absorbing many of its surrounding villages to become more prominent, Leeds officially became a city in 1893.

Travelling from Leeds to London will take you in a southern direction for about 4.5 hours.
